聯合國環境規劃署（UNEP）於臺灣時間2026年9月2日中午12:00發布《有限過衝：應對超越攝氏1.5度與返回路徑之間》（Limiting Overshoot: Navigating exceedance of 1.5°C and pathways towards return）報告[1]。這份報告指出，跨越攝氏1.5度這條降低地球損害的界線，已經難以避免。台灣科技媒體中心邀請氣候科學、能源與氣候政策、水文與調適領域的專家提供觀點。

社會期待科學家能提供答案，但站在聚光燈下發言，從來不是件容易的事，第四場，我們邀請4為科學界，分享他們在這樣的形勢下，如何做出選擇。

過往的合作經驗中，SMC觀察到，多數科學家們即使有心，但也無法像記者一樣熟悉研究與教學之外的溝通方式，當科學家們不清楚如何解釋新聞事件跟自身研究的關連，就更可能在面對媒體時，難以回應社會的需求。科學家大會的第三場，我們邀請三位來自不同性質媒體、不同世代的記者，透過分享他們在報導科學新聞時的判斷與經驗，讓台下的科學家們了解新聞現場與公眾需求，在未來接到記者們的媒體需求時，更加遊刃有餘。

再重要的科學發現，如果沒有好好詮釋的人、沒有好好傳播的管道，就無法被社會看見。科學家大會的第二場，我們邀請了三位科學家，他們都曾在自己的研究正式發表前，與SMC合作籌辦記者會。在記者會結束後，他們的研究都在媒體的準確報導下，讓更多公眾看見，這是怎麼做到的？

2026年8月7日，台灣科技媒體中心舉辦了一年一度的科學家大會。第一場由台灣科技媒體中心執行長陳璽尹開場，和大家回顧SMC的現況，以及我們對台灣科學新聞的期待。

The Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network has released Status of Coral Reefs of the World: 2025, the seventh edition of the report and the most comprehensive assessment of the world’s coral reefs to date.To help the public better understand how far global coral cover has fallen, whether the East Asian Seas and Taiwan are declining as well, the methods and limitations of this report, whether falling coral cover will affect fisheries and coastal protection, and what is still missing from Taiwan’s monitoring system, the Taiwan Science Media Center invited experts in coral reef ecology and marine conservation to offer their views.
